Have you ever stopped to think and consider the use of crystals and semi-precious stones in your home? If so, cool! This article will help you, if you are a complete layman on the subject, or suddenly you even know a little and even have some, wonderful! The article can clarify a few more things for you and inspire you to invest more in them, but if you've never stopped to think about it and are curious, I invite you to learn a little about these true sculptures of nature and have them at home to help you in the protection and energetic elevation of our environments, enhancing our peace, rest, inspiration, love and inner harmony and with those who live with us.
"Oh, I don't believe in those things, my religion doesn't use that." So, dear ones, if you are part of a large group that thinks this way or have doubts about whether or not crystals are related to a specific religion, I tell you no. The use of crystals has nothing to do with religion and you are free to use them without fear, it just depends on your beliefs, convictions and how much you can connect with something.
Many practitioners of independent spirituality, like me, appreciate them and adopt them in their meditation and self-care rituals, while the most skeptical think it's all nonsense, always armed with their scientific arguments, and that's okay! Let us use our free will to live in connection with what makes sense for each of us, respect what others believe and continue lightly on our path to good in our lives.
Crystals are minerals obtained from the Earth's crust in different regions of the world - including here in Brazil - and their followers believe that they have energetic properties capable of intervening in our energetic vibration, being able to rebalance our auric field through direct contact of these properties with our vibration, which ends up making us more capable of improving the quality of our feelings and thoughts, thus also improving our spiritual harmony through the elevation of consciousness, as we will be more instigated to practices that bring us closer to the Divine.
I think it's also important to highlight here that the energetic properties of the crystals have no scientific proof, so it ends up being more a metter of a personal belief to identify and be able to develop a spontaneous and strong connection with them and feel how much the practices that involve them make sense in our lives.
But before mentioning some of these minerals and their properties, I need to address two extremely important points that we should always take into consideration before investing in them (and also, in fact, in anything else for which you give your money in exchange):
PROCEDURE
There are mines for legal extraction of these resources, which operate under license and within civil, labor and environmental laws, but even so they still generate considerable environmental impact. Unfortunately, there is also illegal extraction, which uses manual labor work, some even analogous to slavery, and in unhealthy and/or subhuman conditions.
This is a very serious issue, and a drama in the reality of many people involved in this type of operation, which earns millions, as they do not properly pay those involved in the extraction and the costs of legally carrying out the activity. So, remember this too when you come across stones and crystals that are too cheap.
May this awareness of the origin of the crystals must be a primary criterion when purchasing them. After all, it would be completely contradictory to obtain something with such positive objectives and properties in itself, but whose origin carries the shadows of illegality, obscurity, misery, pain and suffering in the lives of those who are fundamental for these pieces to be in the comfort of their home, supposedly bringing good vibes.
Therefore, before purchasing any piece, always try to make sure you buy from honest stores, which care about choosing suppliers carefully with regard to seriousness, responsibility and transparency regarding their business. But, if suddenly, you are privileged to live in regions where you can find them on dirt roads, almost visible on the surface, or in streams and riversides, thank Mother Nature!
NATURE
It is also important to warn them that, if you look for originality and energetic properties in stones and crystals for self-care purposes, always try to get to know their physical characteristics, such as color, texture, weight and temperature (they are usually very cold), as it is possible for you to be easily deceived in stores and end up buying fake pieces, which can be synthetic, produced in a laboratory and/or in resin, or natural, but which have gone through burning and/or dyeing processes, being later renamed with a different name from the original.
Now, let's move on to the tips on the most used in environments and their properties!
CRYSTAL QUARTZ OR TRANSPARENT QUARTZ
Crystal quartz, commonly used in the shape of druses in environments, is transparent and naturally cut into prismatic points, and is one of the most abundant in nature. It is possible to buy them in rolled, rough stone, spikes and obelisk formats. It is known for stimulating purification, energetic cleansing and lightness in environments, and for being an energy enhancer of other stones, when in contact with it.
AMETHYST
Amethyst exists in different variations and colors according to the regions where they are extracted, with this purple one being the most common. It can be purchased both in the shape of druses and in rolled or rough stones, spikes and obelisks. It is closely associated with issues of intuition and spirituality, and it is also believed that it can help in the transmutation of denser energies into positive energies and energetic balance in the environment.
PINK QUARTZ
Pink quartz is well known even by many laypeople, and it is also an abundant crystal in nature, and can be purchased in rough and rolled stones, spikes and obelisks.
Very associated with feelings of love, harmony and self-esteem, it is usually used to help with issues related to these feelings. In Feng Shui, it is recommended to use it in pairs, one on each side of the bed on bedside tables in couples' bedrooms to keep the feelings of love and connection always strong and present between these couples.
GREEN QUARTZ

We can place them in places close to the entrance of residential and commercial environments, where there is a constant flow of people and occasional visitors.
BLACK TOURMALINE

Important observation: citrine is one of the most forged crystals on the market using the burning method, where original amethysts are subjected to high temperatures until they obtain a color similar to citrine, so... be careful!
SELENITE
Selenite is a very special crystal! It is physically different from other stones, as it has a much lower degree of hardness than the others, being even soft and being able to loosen parts easily if handled more severely. It also has a slight transparency when arranged in thinner pieces and shimmers when seen in reflection in the light.
We can find them in stores in the format of towers, bars, sticks, plates, spheres and bowls, and their properties are mainly related to the cleansing and energetic purification of environments and people, as well as other stones and crystals when placed in contact with them.
It is suitable for maintaining it in environments that require constant energetic purification and in bedrooms, as they are environments of calm and rest and need to be maintained with a serene and relaxing energies.
GEODES
Geodes are stones with a naturally formed cavity inside, which are covered with crystals and/or other minerals. The main geodes found in the crystal trade are agate, amethyst, citrine, crystal quartz, calcite, celestite, etc.
These stones are cut transversally and used as energy "generators", for containing this energy within them and amplifying it in the environment, ensuring that it is always in flow, promoting harmony and balance, plus.. they are very beautiful decoration!
